Brian Cox has revealed in an interview that portraying Logan Roy, the menacing leader of the Waystar family empire in the thriller Succession, had a “bad effect” on him.
The 76-year-old personality, whose career has carried him from Dundee to Hollywood, remarked at the Edinburgh TV Festival: “I wasn’t a big swearer until I performed this part. And now I constantly curse. It’s contagious and contagious.”
Cox is presently taking a break from filming the fourth season while the rest of the Succession ensemble shoots scenes in Los Angeles that he is not required for.
But instead of relaxing, he’s here in Edinburgh. And he’s a busy man, delivering a presentation about his work at a TV festival, promoting the production She/Her, which he created and starred his actor wife in, and also appearing at a book festival to discuss his 2021 memoir, Putting The Rabbit Back In The Hat.
Cox, who has two Emmys and two Olivier Awards to his belt, has worked on over 200 films and TV series in his illustrious career spanning over half a century.
