Jorge Mendes, the agent for Cristiano Ronaldo, has spoken with Napoli about a prospective transfer. The Portuguese football agent is putting a lot of effort into getting Ronaldo the outcome he desires, but he also has a big task ahead working hard to find a replacement for United.
The 53-year-old Mendes has proposed that Ronaldo moves to Napoli and that United should buy their Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen in an effort to land Ronaldo a new club.
However, Napoli would only consider a whopping sum for Osimhen, and it is unclear how United could pay for him with the money they are willing to spend on purchasing Antony from Ajax.
Ronaldo’s removal from the payroll would free up some money for United to possibly reinvest, though it is unknown how much.
Rafael Leo coming from AC Milan to United in the other direction was Mendes’ alternative proposal, but Milan rejected it, according to several media outlets. Ronaldo wants to relocate abroad for personal reasons, and if United can find a suitable replacement, he might get his wish.
