After attacking a police dog and injuring an officer, a guy was sentenced to prison.
Following complaints that Matthew Boulter had assaulted three people and committed vandalism in Grimsby’s Bethlehem Street on Sunday, police detained him.
The cop received minor injuries when the 34-year-old kicked and punched some fencing in their direction as they were being detained.
He then nipped the head of police dog Xander before grasping and twisting his collar.
Thankfully, PD Xander fully recovered and returned to work the following day.
Assaulting emergency service personnel is unacceptable, and our police dogs are a crucial part of our work, said Detective Sergeant Thomas Crosfill.
They are a member of the police clan.
This week, Boulter was given an eight-month prison term after entering a guilty plea to several charges, including battery on an emergency services worker, cruelty to an animal, assault, criminal mischief, and two acts of battery.
