Richard was born to his parents John Mansell Sr his father and Ann Mansell his mother. His father has been the one who always inspires him through his growth. They seem to share a cognizant relationship. Richard’s earliest tournament was in Newberry where he secured the eighth position.

He has three sisters namely Mel Mansell, Lisa Mansell, and Amy Mansell who also love him very much and sometimes love to prank him. He always counts on his sisters, as they might have a love-hate relationship at the start but Richard’s sisters are most proud of his accomplishments.
