Lidia Thorpe is an eminent female politician serving as a senator for Victoria, representing the Australian Greens, and is the first Aboriginal Australian senator from Victoria. She has been actively involved in human rights since 2017.
She has been serving as a member of the Victorian Parliament. After winning the Northcote state by-election on November 18, 2017, she became the first Aboriginal woman elected to the state’s parliament.
She served as a member of Northcote’s division in the Legislative Assembly from 2017 to 2018. Lidia has served as the Greens’ deputy leader in the Senate since June 2022. Besides being a politician, Thorpe is a businesswoman and a forest activist.
