According to a GoFundMe page set up by his pals, the multimedia artist who made music and art for children died as a result of a “short and abrupt illness.”
Taylor is most known for creating the cartoon character Gustafer Yellowgold, who is supposed to be from the sun. Taylor got a Grammy nomination in the Best Children’s Album category for the CD/DVD “Gustafer Yellowgold’s Dark Pie Concerns,” which was published in 2015.
Taylor told Dayton in 2015 that he wanted to be a comic book artist when he was younger and that he wanted to go to New York City to become an illustration.
His wife recommended he start a kids’ book project when his rock band broke in 2003.
