Just a few months after deciding against joining the Champions League champions, Kylian Mbappe has lauded Real Madrid.
The French international’s contract at Paris Saint-Germain was about to expire, and he was extensively linked with a move to the Spanish giants. But with only a few weeks left in the campaign, he made the decision to agree to fresh terms with Les Parisiens.
Mbappe is one of the 30 contenders for the 2022 Ballon d’Or, while Lionel Messi, a teammate at PSG, was left off the list.
As a result, there might be a first-time champion this year. Mbappe has been advocating for Karim Benzema, a fellow international from France.
(He is 34 years old, just finished the season of his life, and recently won the enviable Champions League by frequently making the difference. If I were Karim and I didn’t win, I would never again consider winning the Ballon d’Or, ) said Mbappe.
While Mbappe finished the competition with six goals, Benzema finished the competition with 15, despite the fact that he did not score in the Champions League final the previous season.
When the former scored a hat-trick against PSG, he set a record for the oldest player to do so. The very next round, against Chelsea, he added another hat-trick.
