A professional Romanian tennis player who is best known for her highest WTA ranking as no. 28 in singles that she reached in February of 2012. With exceptional talent at a young age, before she turned 18, she won 11 ITF singles finals, losing only one set. She then made her WTA debut in 2006 in Istanbul, where she won to then junior Sabine Lisicki.
She also achieved her first doubles victory on the WTA Tour there. She eventually made it to her maiden WTA semifinal a month later. That occurred at the Gastein Ladies doubles competition. She also tried to compete in her first Grand Slam during the year, however, she was unsuccessful in all four of the qualifying rounds. She placed in the top 200 for the year 2007.
