Kofi Kinaata |
Fante Rapper and Member of High Grade Family, Kofi Kinaat has revealed how he ‘mistakenly’ ended up with the record label which he is currently signed on to, High Grade Family.
The Artiste who was in the Upper East Region on New Year Day mentioned in an interview on Bolgatanga-based A1Radio that during his days in Takoradi, he used to receive several calls from managers including Kwaw Kesse’s deceased manager Fennec Okyere but had not decided on going to Accra.
Kinaata mentioned that he became fed up with the calls from Fennec Okyere and agreed to go to Accra when his current managers called him thinking it was Fennec he had agreed to meet.
“So when I was in Takoradi I was working hard and people in Accra got to know of my talent through videos I posted online so I used to receive more calls but the calls were mostly from Fennec Okyere. However, I had not decided on going to Accra but he refused to stop calling. So on the day my current manager called me, I just agreed to come to Accra not knowing that it was not Fennec I had agreed to.”
He, however, mentioned that he had not regretted agreeing on a deal with his current management and hopes to make greater strides this year.
Asked as to whether the perception that Samini blocks the shine of artistes under him, Kinaata said:” where is this one too coming from? Stonebwoy was under him and he is now doing extremely well so that assertion or perception is not true“.
