A 56-year-old hiker has unfortunately met her untimely end when she plummeted from a mountain trail in Italy while hiking with her husband.
The couple was almost 100ft high up in the mountain when the horrific accident occurred.
According to authorities, they were headed towards Fronza Alle Coronelle refuge along path 542. It is actually baffling how the accident occurred because the path has been secured with fixed rope, steps, and rungs to aid hikers and to also keep them safe.
This is the second time such an avoidable accident has taken place on the same mountain pass according to reports.
Another brit hiker went missing when he also went for a hike on the same trail on July 4.
His body was discovered a few days later found by authorities at the bottom of a cliff.
The body of the 56-year-old anonymous hiker has been found by the Tires mountain rescue team and taken to the appropriate place for processing, reports indicate.
