All summer long, Manchester has maintained a staunch anti-Cristiano Ronaldo stance.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s loan departure from Manchester United this summer has been categorically denied by the club, according to reports.
Despite Ronaldo’s desire to leave, the Red Devils are steadfast in their stance on transfers: they won’t sell him and will keep him on the team after the summer transfer window closes.
According to reports from last week, United was willing to allow Ronaldo to leave on loan as long as he exercised the one-year contract extension clause. The striker’s current contract, which is up in 2023, has a 2024 extension option available to the club with his permission.
There have been rumors, though, that United has labeled those rumblings as nonsense and rejected the notion of accepting a loan proposal.
Moreover, they don’t see any reason to let Ronaldo leave on a free transfer while he is still under contract, coming off a season in which he scored 24 goals, and with Atletico Madrid showing interest.
Given his lack of match sharpness, Ronaldo’s participation in the club’s season-opening match against Brighton & Hove Albion next week is still in doubt.
However, if he can’t get out of Old Trafford, Anthony Martial may have to fight to regain his position as a starter due to his early comeback under the Dutchman.
