Tuesday morning, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez drove in together for their first practice as Manchester United athletes.
The two signed contracts during United’s pre-season training tour of Australia, making them Erik ten Hag’s second and third signings as Red Devils manager, respectively.
Midfielder Eriksen and defender Martinez arrived at the club’s Carrington training facility on Tuesday morning just after 11 a.m. in preparation for their first practice under Ten Hag. The rest of the team had already returned to their homes.
They arrived about 15 minutes after their star teammate Cristiano Ronaldo and agent Jorge Mendes arrived for tense negotiations about Ronaldo’s future with the team, who were then joined by Ex-Manchester coach Sir Alex Ferguson.
Other celebrities, including Bruno Fernandes, Luke Shaw, and Anthony Martial, were also seen arriving.
Images of the newcomers getting ready for practice suggest that Martinez’s £56.1 million transfer from Ajax, where Ten Hag worked with him for three years and helped him develop into one of Europe’s most exciting center-backs, is about to be officially confirmed.
On the other hand, Eriksen, who signed a three-year contract after leaving Brentford, is now a Red Devil and will likely be introduced soon.
