Per speculations on Monday(July 25) night, the agent of William Saliba reportedly had a meeting with the club president of Marseille.
The two met in London to talk about a long-term transfer for the 21year old Saliba, who has frequently expressed his love for the Ligue 1 team. It happens despite the fact that Arsenal spent the preseason integrating the center back into their starting lineup.
Despite the fact that Saliba has yet to take the field for Mikel Arteta’s team in a competitive match, rumors have it that the Gunners still view him as a valuable asset.
Marseille, however, is adamant about trying to keep the child forever.
Saliba performed admirably while on loan at Stade Velodrome in Ligue 1 last year, aiding Les Olympiens to a second-place finish.
The young star matured, turning in outstanding performances and even breaking into Didier Deschamps’ France team.
Jorge Sampoli, the manager of Marseille, has since sensationally resigned in protest of the team’s transfer policy, which includes the failure to sign Saliba.
The French Under-21 defender from Saint-Etienne cost the Gunners £27 million in 2019.
Marseille is reportedly planning to make a £26 million offer, which means that the North London club may decide to cut its losses.
