Following rumors of the Tesla CEO’s suspected extramarital affair with his wife Nicole Shanahan, billionaire Elon Musk has denied any differences with longtime friend and Google co-founder Sergey Brin.
Are Sergey Brin and Elon Musk friends?
The Tesla CEO reportedly had a brief relationship with Shanahan, according to a Wall Street Journal report that cited anonymous sources.
The relationship between the two tech billionaires was alleged to have terminated as a result of the affair, which led Brin to divorce Shanahan earlier this year.
Elon Musk, though, has disputed the allegation, saying, “I’m friends with Sergey, and last night we went to a party together. In three years, Nicole and I have only met twice, and both times, there were many of other people present. Nothing sentimental.”
The co-founder of Google apparently received one of the first Tesla cars when sales began, and he reportedly provided Musk $500,000 in 2008 to help Musk keep Tesla solvent during the financial crisis.
But following the alleged Musk-Nicole romance, Brin reportedly tried to distance himself from any association with Tesla or Musk’s businesses.
