He joined Madrid in 2009 after dominating the Premier League with United as a teenager, but he later went back to Old Trafford to cement his legacy with the Red Devils.
Ronaldo, however, appears destined to leave United after just a year as his future is still up in the air following a disastrous Premier League campaign.
However, despite promises of his loyalty, Ronaldo has previously stated that he was unconcerned with haters and would always put his personal business first over anything else.
The now-five-time Ballon d’Or winner is still regarded as a Madrid and United’s legend and has not yet upset supporters with a transfer. But over the past 12 months, his loyalty has been put to the test.
First, before returning to Manchester United, Ronaldo was rumored to be moving to Manchester City. Some fans even started setting shirts on fire because they thought their former hero would join their fierce rivals. But up until this point, Ronaldo remained devoted.

Despite repeated reports to the contrary, his protracted exit strategy so close to the Premier League season has already alienated United supporters. And now the Los Blancos supporters are prepared to riot after new rumors surfaced that he could join his old rivals Atletico Madrid.
