A well-known and popular stand-up comedian and Bristol City FC supporter has received tributes after his death.

In 2012 and 2016, Stoney Garnett, a well-known figure in the southern part of the city, ran twice for mayor of Bristol.

Stoney Garnett’s passing was announced by Bristol City’s official Twitter account, which also wrote: “Rest in Peace.”

Due to his sense of style, Mr. Garnett was frequently noticed in Ashton Gate wearing a large red trilby hat with a feather.

Mr. Garnett, who is running for mayor as an independent, claimed in his platform that he had lived in Bristol his whole life and “understood what Bristolian people want in Bristol.”

Marvin Rees, the current mayor of Bristol, also paid him respect, calling him a “genuine character and utter gent.”
