According to a credible source, the club is willing to loan Ronaldo out so that he can fulfill his dream of competing in the Champions League.
But in exchange, they are asking Ronaldo to start a year-long extension on his current contract, which is set to expire in the summer. Ronaldo could then come back to United at the end of the current campaign.
If Erik ten Hag can lead the Red Devils to a Champions League spot in the upcoming season, there is a chance he will then be able to play in Europe’s top competition in Manchester once more.
According to reports, the club made the suggestion during negotiations with Ronaldo’s super-agent Jorge Mendes.
But after the Portuguese star made it clear he wanted to leave, both Ronaldo and Mendes were taken aback by the offer. Although Ronaldo’s camp has not yet declined United’s offer.
