After cutting his arm with a chainsaw while trimming trees at his Florida home, golfing great Greg Norman declared he was “one lucky man” to still have his left hand.
Following the tragedy on Saturday, the 59-year-old Australian required surgery to correct nerve damage.
How did Greg Norman lose his arm?
It was, to put it mildly, an unusual Saturday afternoon, Norman said.
The golfer declared, “I’m not a rookie,” adding that he performs a lot of chainsawing at his ranch in Colorado.
He claimed that on Saturday, while cutting the foliage at his property in south Florida, he reached out with his left hand to grab a tree limb while holding the saw in his right hand with the blade still running.
As the chain slowed down due to Norman taking his finger off the trigger, the hefty limb began to descend straight down rather than away from him.
