Detective John McClane, played by Bruce Willis in the 1988 action blockbuster Die Hard, made a promise.
“I swear I’ll never even consider climbing a tall building again.”
So much for that cinematic pledge, I suppose.
The 67-year-old actor was documented on Instagram returning to Century City, California’s Nakatomi Plaza, also known as the Fox Plaza skyscraper, thanks to his wife, Emma Heming Willis.
The movie, which has been rerun on TV countless times over the years, depicts McClane’s attempts to eliminate a group of terrorists who have seized control of the high-rise and kidnapped hostages.
Since the events take place on Christmas Eve, many fans view it as a holiday movie.
Heming Willis posted the clip showing Willis reflecting in black and white while atop a tower and taking in the surroundings, which was interwoven with clips from the Die Hard movie.
Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” is performed by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir on the soundtrack for the video.
Following a diagnosis of aphasia, a condition that impairs expression and comprehension, Willis’ family announced earlier this year that he will stop performing.
