Lourdes Grobet was born July 25, 1940, in Mexico City, Mexico. During her youth, took a formal painting class at the Academy of San Carlos. This was cut short as her parents did not like the views of the school.
They later sent her to work under a Catholic professor named José Suárez Olvera. She then attended the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico, where she studied plastic arts. At the Cardiff College of Art, she studied Cardiff College of Art.
During her career, she has had over one hundred exhibitions of her photographs, both group and solo exhibitions. She has also received many grants and awards for her work.
On July 15, 2022, she died in Mexico City. She is survived by the four children she had with her ex-husband, Xavier Perez Barba.
