Interestingly, Chelsea has been asked to sign Cristiano Ronaldo or risk finishing third again next season.
Last season, Chelsea finished 19 points behind champions Manchester City and 18 points behind second-placed Liverpool. They’ve already signed Raheem Sterling to help bridge the gap, and they’re planning to sign Kalidou Koulibaly and Nathan Ake as well.
However, they said goodbye to £97.5 million striker Romelu Lukaku, who rejoined Inter Milan on loan, leaving them short on attacking options. And, even though the one player they need to replace him is right in front of them, they risk finishing behind City and Liverpool again if they don’t sign him.
Ex-Arsenal and England forward Paul Merson believes Ronaldo still has it and would be a better fit at Chelsea than at Manchester United.
According to his post, (Chelsea will finish no higher than third next season unless they sign a world-class striker).
(And there is still one player on the market who is perfectly suited to fill the role – Cristiano Ronaldo).
