Michael James Jackson, a producer, engineer, and longtime Kiss colleague who worked on several of the band’s ’80s albums has died, purportedly as a result of COVID-related problems.

Kiss paid homage to Jackson on Thursday morning on Facebook.
“Michael James Jackson died as a result of complications from COVID-related pneumonia,” the band stated.
“He inspired Killers, Creatures of the Night, Lick It Up, and Animalize.”
His enthusiasm and conviction in the band were crucial to our newfound success in the 1980s.
He adored our fans and was a loyal member of the Kiss family till his death.
We grieve his death while also celebrating his life.”
Paul Stanley, a singer, and guitarist, also paid tribute to Jackson on Twitter. “My dearest and best buddy for 40 years, Michael James Jackson, has died,” he wrote.
“His generosity and unwavering dedication to me and our friendship was a rock that helped me get through the roughest moments. He encouraged me to start painting and relished in my triumphs without reservation. Heartbroken.”
