Conor McGregor dismissed Jake Paul’s idea that the two fight in the future, calling the American a “nothing.”
Paul has a 5-0 professional boxing record, including knockouts of two former MMA world champions: former Bellator and ONE champion Ben Askren and former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.
His immediate target is Hasim Rahman Jnr, the son of the former heavyweight champion, who will face Paul on August 6 after a rescheduled fight with Tommy Fury fell through.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer has long advocated for a boxing showdown with McGregor, a two-weight UFC champion who lost his only professional boxing match in 2017 to Floyd Mayweather Jr.
When asked on The MMA Hour whether he thinks the fight is getting closer to reality, Paul said: ‘Yeah, for sure.
‘He’s a businessman, I’m a businessman, and that’s $75-100million for both of us.’
McGregor however shut down fight talk, tweeting: ‘You’ve 2 fights and done 70k buys alongside a laughing emoji. ‘You are a flop, kid. A nobody.’
McGregor has not fought since breaking his leg in a loss to Dustin Poirier in July.
