We now have a late winter awards season must-stop releasing its dates just as the fall film festival season is getting ready to kick off with Venice, Telluride, Toronto, and NYFF busy finalizing their slates.
Today it was revealed that the 2023 Santa Barbara International Film Festival would run from February 8 to February 18.
With onstage tributes, panels, and other events highlighting the yearly race for the Academy Awards, SBIFF has increasingly evolved into the place to be seen if you have received one of those coveted Oscar nominations.
In addition to hosting a number of world and U.S. premieres.
After the pandemic drove several of its activities into virtual presentations the year before, SBIFF made a very welcome return to in-person screenings, talks, and events last year.
48 world premieres and 95 U.S. premieres were featured at the 2022 festival, and honorary awards were given to Javier Bardem, Nicole Kidman, Kristen Stewart, Penélope Cruz, Will Smith and Aunjanue Ellis, Benedict Cumberbatch, Caitriona Balfe, Ariana DeBose, Alana Haim, Ciarán Hinds, Emilia Jones, Troy Kotsur, Simon Rex, Saniyya Sidney, Paul In the end, DeBose, Smith, Kotsur, Campion, Branagh, and Hamaguchi all received Oscars.
The final cast and release date for the movie will be revealed in January 2023.
