Gennaro Anthony Sirico Jr. was an American actor who died on July 9, 2022.

He was best known for his role in The Sopranos as Peter Paul “Paulie Walnuts” Gualtieri.

He also appeared in a number of Woody Allen films.

His relatives made the announcement. This month, the actor would have turned 80.

“It is with enormous loss, but also with incredible pride, love, and a lifetime of happy memories,” the family said in a statement.

Although no cause of death was given, Sirico had been in poor health for some years. He died at a Fort Lauderdale, Florida assisted living facility.

Sirico played The Sopranos’ fan-favorite henchman Paulie Walnuts for the whole six-season run on HBO.

He was intended to appear in David Chase’s prequel film, The Many Saints of Newark, due out in 2021, but his health prohibited him from doing so.

He was 80 years old.
