Due to allegations that the King of Pop never sang them, three songs from Michael Jackson’s posthumous 2010 album “Michael” have been taken down from streaming providers.
Songs by Michael Jackson taken off from streaming platforms
The songs “Breaking News,” “Monster,” and “Keep Your Head Up” were removed from the album by Michael Jackson’s estate and Sony Music “as the simplest and best way to move beyond the conversation associated with these tracks once and for all,” according to fans who insist that singer Jason Malachi sings on these songs instead of Jackson.
The songs are no longer available on Apple Music or Spotify.
The most recent event happened after Vera Serova, a Jackson admirer, sued Sony Music in 2014.
According to Variety and Billboard, Serova asserted that Jackson was incorrectly identified as the singer of the songs and that this violated the Unfair Competition Law and the Consumers Legal Remedies Act.
