Jenson Brooksby was born on the 26th of October 2000 in Sacramento, California (United States). He was the only child of Glen and Tania Brooksby. He was named after former Formula One driver Jenson Button following the huge passion of his father for Formula one. Glen is an anesthesiologist and he used to race for fun in California.

He started playing tennis at the age of 4, and he revealed that he would ” hit a Nerf ball against the garage door every day before school, for like an hour.” “I just always loved playing tennis,” he once said.

A year later, on August 23, 2019, Brooksby qualified for the main draw of the US Open.  There, he defeated Tomáš Berdych in four sets in the first round. However, he lost in the second round to Nikoloz Basilashvili of Georgia.

Two years later in 2021, he won three Challenger trophies, at Potchefstroom-2, Orlando-1, and Tallahassee. Jenson is yet to win, Grand slams (singles)
