Martyn Forrest, a former footballer for Bury, passed away on Friday 24, June 2022.
Martyn played with Bury from 1996 to 2003 before going on to play for Leigh RMI, Droylsden, and Radcliffe between 2004 and 2012, appearing in 287 games and tallying 10 goals.
He died at the age of 43.

“Not many people are aware that Martyn was diagnosed with a brain tumor after he passed out on the field at Radcliffe Borough back in 2008.
“In March 2022, we received the heartbreaking news that the treatment was no longer effective after having three brain surgeries, radiation, and chemotherapy.
“After a few months of pain, he is finally at his final resting place, where he can watch over his two sons as they develop into incredible men.
