Jamin Ben Raskin is an American attorney and politician serving as the U.S. representative for Maryland’s 8th congressional district since 2017.
According to Wikipedia, he was born to Barbara Raskin and Marcus Raskin in New York City in 1957. His mother was a novelist and a writer of short stories. His father was a longtime National Security Council staff adviser to President John F. Kennedy, as well as a co-founder of the Institute for Policy Studies, and a progressive activist in his own right.
