Christopher Ian Chesser, an American film and television producer, was born on September 16, 1948, and passed away on February 2, 2023.

He rose to recognition as the director of the 1989 film Major League. Chris Chesser died in Los Angeles on February 2, 2023, at the age of 74. A statement from his family claims that Chesser unexpectedly passed away on February 2 at his Los Angeles residence.

In 1974, Chesser began working for Columbia Pictures as an international sales executive in New York. He relocated to Los Angeles in 1976 and was hired as the American Film Institute’s general manager.

In his capacity as an executive at Orion Pictures, Marble Arch Productions, and Filmways, he oversaw the making of a number of films, including Caddyshack, Arthur, Excalibur, and On Golden Pond.

Along with Alan Beattie, whose work includes The Wrong Man, Exquisite Tenderness, and Under Pressure, he established Beattie/Chesser Productions in 1990.
