It breaks our hearts to bring to you a sad story of a Brandon High School football player who passed away on Monday. Our heartfelt condolences to the family during these difficult times.
This sad news was reported by Rankin County Superintendent Dr Scott Rimes said Phillip Laster Jr. has died. The student-athlete who was identified as Phillip Laster Jr was 17 years old and his cause of death has not been released. However, the body is taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office to rule on a cause of death.
Mr Rimes who is the Rankin County Superintendent released a statement saying, “We are saddened and heartbroken by the sudden loss of Brandon High School student-athlete, Phillip Laster. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. In the days to come, RCSD will offer support to the family, Brandon High School team members, coaches, classmates, teachers, and administrators as we all grieve the loss of Phillip.”
