He started his profession as a meeting artist in Branson, Missouri, and later as a demo artist. On the Billboard country diagrams, he had 14 singles, including the No.

After graduation, he went on to compete in another talent show at a park in Rogers, Arkansas. Carson was requested to join the winner of that competition’s band, which he did for four years until the band disbanded.
