The final funeral arrangements for the late renowned broadcast journalist, Martin Kwabena Kwakye, popularly known as ‘Wofa K.K,’ have been scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 27, 2024.
The solemn event will be held at the forecourt of the State House in Accra with attendees expected to bid their final farewells to the departed media icon.
The family has disclosed that after the funeral service in Accra, the mortal remains of Wofa K.K will be transported to Sekyere Kwaman in the Ashanti Region for interment.
Prominent personalities including the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice-President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Opare Osei, Ministers of State, as well as heads of various agencies and state institutions are set to be present at the ceremony to pay their respects to the late journalist.
Prior to the final funeral rites, a memorable 12-hour mass requiem was held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the forecourt of Oman FM located at Madina Zongo Junction. The event was organized as part of the one-week observation activities in honor of Wofa K.K.
Dubbed ‘Harmony in Remembrance of a Broadcast Legend – The Life and Legacies of Wofa K. K,’ the mass service served as a platform for family, friends, colleagues, and well-wishers to celebrate the remarkable life and accomplishments of the late ace journalist.
