The mother of Vincent Bossu, the second accused party found not guilty and released from custody in connection with the murder of JB Danquah Adu, the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, Madam Juliet said that her son’s actions caused her to lose her husband.

She expressed her belief in her son’s innocence all along, even if she was crying a little while after her son was cleared of conspiracy to rob by the Accra High Court.

Speaking with EIB Network Legal Affairs Correspondent Murtala Inusah following the court session, Madam Juliet expressed gratitude to God for the answers to her prayers.

On Tuesday, March 19, State Prosecutors under the direction of Mrs. Sefakor Batse concluded their case with the testimony of eight witnesses, including ASP Augustus Nkrumah and the investigator.

Subsequently, the High Court decided in a submission of no case that the prosecution had proven prima facie evidence. Daniel Asiedu, also known as Sexy Don Don, was ordered to present his defense against the charges of robbery and murder of Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu.

Asiedu is being detained in a legal manner while awaiting trial after entering a not guilty plea to charges of robbery and murder.

The prosecution was unable to prove a prima facie case against Bossu, according to the trial judge, Justice Lydia Osei Marfo, who closed the prosecution’s case on Tuesday, March 19, 2014.

For the previous eight years, Bossu and Asiedu were placed on remand.

Moments after Bossu was found not guilty and released from custody, according to EIB Network Legal Affairs Correspondent Murtala Inusah, who was present in court, he started crying in the courtroom.

Before being assassinated on February 8, 2016, Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu served as the New Patriotic Party’s member of parliament for Abuakwa North.

Since then, Judge Marfo has mandated that Sexy Don Don produce a witness statement by April 15 featuring himself and any additional witnesses he plans to call.

Prior to his release, ASP Augustus Nkrumah, the investigator testifying as the eighth prosecution witness, was being questioned by defense attorneys under Yaw Danquah’s leadership.
