There has been a reported crash in Bonsokrom, in the Ahanta West Municipality of the Western Region, involving a Ghana Air Force helicopter.

The aircraft, which Air Force officers are currently preventing the public from seeing, was allegedly carrying 14 people, including employees of the petroleum industry, according to eyewitnesses.

Concern was raised among the locals when the helicopter crashed close to the Bonsokrom village as it went down into a thicket.

Despite the unnerving nature of the occurrence, indications indicate that Air Force officials have successfully retrieved all of the passengers and crew aboard the aircraft.

It’s still unclear exactly where the helicopter is supposed to take off and land. At the time of the disaster, it is unclear if the helicopter was its way from Takoradi to Accra or was returning from offshore sites to Takoradi.
