Silas Duane Boston, a former resident of Sacramento, California, was charged with the murder of British couple Chris Farmer and Peta Frampton back in 1978. The victims were found dead off the coast of Guatemala with signs of torture.
Boston had a history of violence, including shooting his wife, Mary Lou, and fleeing rape charges before finally being arrested for the murders of Farmer and Frampton.
Chris Farmer and Peta Frampton, both university graduates from Manchester, had embarked on a year-long journey that took them to Belize, where they chartered Boston’s boat for a trip to Mexico. However, a dispute with Boston led to their tragic deaths as he bludgeoned them, shackled their bodies to engine parts, and threw them into the sea.
The heinous crime was dramatised in the new Prime Video series, Dead in the Water, where Boston’s son Vince shared how his father threatened him into silence about the murders. Vince revealed that Boston had killed his mother and was willing to kill anyone who stood in his way, instilling fear in his sons to keep them quiet.
The true crime programme Dead in the Water premiered on February 28, 2024, and is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video. The chilling story serves as a reminder of the horrors that can be committed by individuals with dark motives and the devastating impact it can have on the victims and their families.
