The Asogli State’s Agbogbomefia declares that he is prepared to serve his country in any position and offer his knowledge to the advancement of the country.
He emphasized that he would gladly accept any invitation to serve the country because he is a person who genuinely cares about its progress.
However, Togbe Afede stated that he had not given any person or group of persons the authority to represent him in the race to be the National Democratic Congress (NDC) running partner.
The Asogli State Council released a statement that included this information and was signed by Stephen Tetteh, the council’s secretary.
The statement clarified that Togbe was visited by a group operating under the name “Change Makers Forum,” which begged him to think about joining forces with John Mahama in the approaching general elections.
The most recent group of individuals to contact Togbe about competing alongside President Mahama in the 2024 presidential contest was the “Change Makers Forum.”
As a patriotic citizen, Togbe replied, he would not turn down any chance to serve his nation; nevertheless, the flag bearer, who is already quite familiar with him, has the right to select his running companion.
Togbe views the call from a group of well-meaning professionals expressing their belief in him and their wish for him to become the next Vice President of Ghana as a wonderful honor.
Mr. Tetteh clarified, however, that Togbe has not ordered any individual or organization to “lobby” for his choice of running mate.
Consequently, he offered an unconditional apology to everyone who could have been caught off guard and ashamed upon discovering the misrepresented information.
