On Monday morning, Ryan Mott had an unexpected medical incident on campus. Despite being taken to the hospital quickly, he was declared deceased.
At Darien, Illinois’s Hinsdale South High School, Ryan Mott taught science and special education. Based on his LinkedIn page, he had been employed by the institution for twenty years and had served in the military.
Described as a quiet man, a powerhouse in the classroom, a role model, and a source of support, Mott was well-liked and well-respected by his pupils and colleagues.
At approximately 7:40 a.m. on February 12, 2024, Mott experienced a medical emergency at the school.
Despite being taken to Hinsdale Hospital immediately, he did not make it. It was not revealed what caused his death.
That day, the school dismissed the pupils early and provided counseling to those who required it. In a public statement, the school system also expressed its profound sorrow at Mott’s passing and offered its sympathies to his friends and family.
Despite having a calm demeanor, Mr. Mott was a formidable teacher. His colleagues, previous pupils, and current students will all sincerely miss him, the school said in a statement.
Speaking with FOX 32, a mother characterized Mott as an inspiration and someone who made a significant effort to support her son following his father’s passing last year.
