An independent power producer with a focus on social responsibility and community building, Genser Energy Ghana Limited, has provided funding for the building and equipping of a new building for the Ghana Armed Forces’ Jungle Warfare School located in Akyem Achiase, Eastern Region.

The building, known as the Otwasuom Osae Nyampong VI Block, was the idea of Nana Osae Nyampong VI, the board chairman of Genser Energy. It would house the school’s demonstration company and provide them with the necessities for training and comfortable living. The structure has a water reservoir, bathrooms, beds with mattresses, and wardrobes.

Military officials, community and religious leaders, and Genser Energy representatives attended the historic ceremony.

In his capacity as the commander of the 17 Army Signal Brigade, Brigadier General Anthony Ntem thanked the chief of defense staff and emphasized the need to preserve the recently built block for future usage.

“We sincerely appreciate your thoughtfulness. I want to beg the military to use this space appropriately. Keep the area maintained so that it will survive a long time for us,” he said.

Speaking passionately about Genser’s dedication to improving local communities, Nana Osae Nyampong VI, for his part, emphasized the significance of boosting Ghanaian institutions such as the Jungle Warfare School.

The new block was revolutionary for the Jungle Warfare School’s commanding officer, Lt Col Jacob Codjoe. He conveyed his happiness and appreciation while emphasizing the beneficial effects the upgraded facilities will have on the lives of the officers and trainers.

“We are so grateful to Genser Energy for this kind gesture, and we are thrilled to have this block,” he stated. It has truly changed our lives, and it has come at the perfect time because the place where my trainers were staying was terrible. To accommodate our police and trainees, we require additional blocks.

Lt Col Codjoe praised the quickness and effectiveness with which the project was executed; the facility was designed, built, and furnished in just three months.
