Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the 2020 running mate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) flag bearer, has urged all parties involved to put up their best effort in order to guarantee peaceful elections in the forthcoming presidential and legislative elections.
At the Bassa Nkyifie Yam Festival in the Sene East District of the Bono East Region, she spoke on behalf of former President John Dramani Mahama and urged all Ghanaians to come together for a peaceful election.
She declared, “We don’t need to make elections cause division among us; we are one people with one nation.”
In order to avoid causing misunderstanding in the nation, she also urged the populace to exercise caution when speaking during political campaigns.
Because the NDC has superior policies for their future, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang urged the nation’s youth to support the party.
Kwasi Adu Gyan, the regional minister for Bono East, added that the New Patriotic Party government prioritized education.
To make it possible for everyone to have access to high-quality education, it implemented the Free Senior High School (FSHS) policy.
He urged Bassa’s kids to utilize the Free SHS provision to continue their education.
Regarding the approaching elections, Bassa Traditional Council Paramount Chief Nana Owusu Sakyi III asked for harmony prior to, during, and following the polls.
The Bono East Regional House of Chiefs Vice-President, Nana Sakyi III, also urged the government to convert the Bassa health center into a polyclinic.
Additionally, he made a request to the Ministry of Education to open a university at Bassa.
