Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, a member of parliament for North Tongu, along with his partners have dedicated and given a dwelling unit to the victims of the Akosombo Dam leak in September 2023 in Battor.
The action is intended to help individuals impacted by the destructive flood by offering them support and shelter.
At a ceremony held at Battor, in the Volta region, Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa officially unveiled the housing complex, which is a part of Phase 2 of the resettlement project.
With this initiative, the MP and his partner are showing how committed they are to helping flood victims and giving them a secure place to live.
In his speech, Mr. Ablakwa urged Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and President Akufo-Addo to provide the affected people with more aid than what kind-hearted Ghanaians have already done.
He continued by saying that it is critical that the government step in to meet the victims’ requirements and guarantee their welfare throughout the trying times of relocation.
“Some victims who have not yet been relocated bemoan their circumstances, particularly in light of the impending rainy season. In order to provide these people a sense of security and stability, we must hasten the resettlement process,” he stated.
