Akufo-Addo set to announce ministerial reshuffle

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is expected to announce a ministerial reorganization shortly, according to Joy News.

At the Jubilee House on Friday, February 9, a meeting was held to decide on the names. After months of public demands, the president is about to make some big changes to his ministerial appointments.

His government made its most recent changes a month after former Ministers of Trade and Industry Alan Kyerematen and Food and Agriculture Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto resigned to concentrate on their political campaigns.

Sources suggest that the upcoming shuffle will be wide-ranging and that it was subtly delayed to allow for the conclusion of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential and parliamentary primaries.

To relieve the impacted ministers of the added emotional burden of a possible loss as they assumed their new roles, the primaries were held over the weekend.

After the ruling party’s internal elections, the reshuffle was rescheduled from December to February to prevent any defeated candidates from blaming the president for their defeat.

As part of the system’s revitalization efforts, several Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) are targeted for replacement.
