Porter, who was born on January 3rd, 1974, grew up in the Fort Dodge, Iowa, community. Her father, Dan Porter, started out as a farmer and eventually worked in banking. Her mother, Liz, played a significant role in the establishment of Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting.
