On January 3, 1974, American politician, professor of law, and lawyer Katherine Moore Porter was born. From 2019 to 2023, she was a representative for California’s 47th congressional district. Porter was raised in the small Iowan town of Fort Dodge, where he was born and raised.
She is the first Democrat to hold office in the 45th district, which spans a substantial portion of Laguna Niguel, a sizable portion of Anaheim, and a significant portion of south-central Orange County, including Lake Forest, Irvine, and Tustin.
She speaks for the entire district. In California’s recently redrawn 47th congressional district, Porter won reelection in 2022. Dianne Feinstein’s Senate seat will become open in 2024 when she becomes 91, and she is running for it.
