John West Jr. was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 16, 1970. He is an actor, Producer, Director, and former professional football player.
Following his roles in the television shows Martin 1997 and New York Undercover 1997, West was chosen to play the renowned coroner in the critically acclaimed film The P.A.C.K.
After observing other film directors in front of the camera, West made the decision to go out on his own as a first-time film producer and filmmaker. West made a bold decision and self-funded his debut feature, Bar-Be-Q. John West himself directed the 1999 movie Bar-Be-Q, which was released in a few cinemas across the USA in 2000. After receiving rejections from multiple film distribution organizations, West concentrated on releasing the movie on his own.
Omari Hardwick, who plays Ghost on the popular Starz Network television series Power, appeared in this movie for the first time. Additionally, it is Steve Howse, aka Layzie Bone of Bone Thugs N Harmony, the first-ever film.
