Edward Allen Harris, an American actor and filmmaker, was born on November 28, 1950. For his performances in Pollock, The Hours, The Truman Show, and Apollo 13, he won accolades and nominations.

Harris was born at Englewood Hospital in Englewood, New Jersey, and was reared in the nearby New York City borough of Tenafly, New Jersey. At Columbia University, Harris played varsity football alongside future US Attorney General Eric Holder. In high school, Harris was an outstanding athlete.

From the middle of the 1970s to the middle of the 1980s, Harris enjoyed regular TV work. Numerous episodes of shows featuring characters like Gibbsvill, Delvecchio, The Rockford Files, David Cassidy: Man Undercover, The Seekers, Barnaby Jones, Paris, and others featured him on multiple occasions.
