The late Joe and Joyce Nelson had only one child, Anthony, who was born on October 6, 1975. His mother and grandmother, who were also gospel singers, introduced him to the genre of music when he was a little child. Nelson completed his undergraduate studies in science at Southern University and A&M College, followed by a master’s degree in science at Louisiana State University, before landing a job as an environmental engineer.
