After graduating from college, Sepp Straka went pro and competed in a number of events on the 2016 PGA Tour Canada.
He was born in Vienna, Austria, to an American mother and an Austrian father.
He earned a spot on the 2017 Web.com Tour. In 25 events, his best placing was seventh at the El Bosque Mexico Championship.
After being tied for 20th on the 2018 Web.com Tour Finals money list and tying for third in the Web.com Tour Championship, Straka became the first golfer from Austria to be awarded a PGA Tour card.
Straka won the KC Golf Classic on the Web.com Tour earlier in the year to earn his first professional triumph.
Straka’s greatest performance during his rookie year on the PGA Tour was a third-place showing at the 2019 Barbasol Championship, which served as a backup event for the 2019 Open Championship.
Straka qualified for the 2019 FedEx Cup Playoffs and was guaranteed to maintain his card for the 2020 season by finishing the regular PGA Tour season in 107th place on the FedEx Cup standings.
