Atletico Madrid turned down Manchester United’s offer to sign Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese international recently stated his desire to leave Old Trafford and play for a team capable of competing in the Champions League.
Chelsea, PSG, Napoli, and Bayern Munich have all expressed interest in signing with Jorge Mendes’ agency, but all have declined.
As reported yesterday, rumors began to circulate that a shock move to Atletico Madrid was in the pipeline, with head coach Diego Simeone a known admirer of Ronaldo.
The Rojoblanco, however, have become the latest team to turn down a move for the galactico, citing financial reasons for their decision.
