The Argentine international has made headlines after revealing his preferred club in the transfer market for next season, despite the fact that many teams wanted him.
Last season, Lisandro Martinez worked with new Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag; Martinez was also pursued by Arsenal but has chosen Old Trafford as his next destination.
United will pay a guaranteed €57 million (£48.5 million) for the Argentina international, with an additional €10 million (£8.5 million) in add-ons agreed between the two clubs. Martinez will reunite with former Ajax manager Erik Ten Hag, who signed him for the club in 2019, at Old Trafford.
The deal is still subject to medical and visa approval, with completion expected in the coming days, before he signs a five-year contract in Manchester, with the option of an additional year, which would take him past his 30th birthday.
Martinez posted an Instagram photo of himself and his agent on a plane with the caption (heading to Manchester) on Friday evening.
